Care

Wearing your compression garment correctly ensures you receive the full benefits of support, comfort, and recovery. Follow these steps to put on your garment easily and maximize its effectiveness.

Before You Begin

After surgery, follow your doctor’s guidelines for wearing your compression garment.

Avoid lotions or oils, as they may make it harder to slide the garment into place.

Ensure your skin is clean and dry before putting on your compression garment.

If your garment has a zipper, hooks, or Velcro, open them before wearing.

Step-by-Step Guide

For Full-Body and Post-Surgical Garments:

  1. Start from the bottom up. Step into your garment, just like you would with a pair of tights or leggings.
  2. Gently pull it up. Work the fabric upwards, smoothing it over your body rather than yanking.
  3. Adjust as needed. Ensure seams align correctly with your body and that the fabric sits smoothly.
  4. Secure the closures. If your garment has hooks, zippers, or Velcro, fasten them gradually from the bottom up.
  5. Check for comfort. The fit should be snug but not overly tight, ensure there are no wrinkles or folds that could create discomfort.

For Activewear Compression Leggings & Tops:

  1. Put one leg or arm in at a time. Ease the fabric up instead of pulling aggressively.
  2. Ensure proper alignment. Seams should sit symmetrically for optimal performance.
  3. Check flexibility. Move around to ensure full mobility without restriction.

For Maternity and Shapewear:

  1. Step in carefully. Roll the garment down slightly, then step in one leg at a time.
  2. Pull up gently. Work the garment upwards, ensuring even compression throughout.
  3. Position correctly. Make sure support panels sit where they are designed to, such as under the belly for maternity wear or around the waist for shapewear.
  4. Smooth out any folds. Adjust for a seamless, comfortable fit.

Wearing Schedule & Care

  • Post-surgical wear: Follow your doctor’s guidance, typically wearing it for 12–24 hours a day in the early stages of recovery.
  • Maternity wear: Can be worn daily for support, especially during long periods of standing or sitting.
  • Shapewear & activewear: Suitable for all-day wear or during workouts, depending on your needs.

Removing Your Compression Garment

  • Unfasten closures. Loosen any zippers, hooks, or Velcro.
  • Roll down gradually. Avoid pulling it off too quickly to prevent stretching the fabric.
  • Step out carefully. Take your time to avoid unnecessary strain on sensitive areas.
